Most blacktail I have hunted seem to be very nocturnal so sitting on a stand isn' t one of the better ways to hunt them . Some hunters rattle them in and use a grunt call, This method seems to work pretty good in the later part of the season . The way I enjoy hunting them the most is still hunting or setting up a stand and driving the deer to someone on the stand . You need to know the country you are going to be hunting pretty well to get this to work though . I usually take from two to four a year so it can' t be all that hard .

I agree that still-hunting works well for blacktail, and I also have rattled one in in the later part of the season. I have also had good success glassing clearcuts both early in the morning and in the evening. Also, some of my best days hunting them were in the rain.
Halcon, you must hunt outside Oregon also to be able to get 4 deer in a year.

To get all the answers you nead you should cantact your local fish and game club for all the tips. This worked for me when I called one day and just let them roll in earlier in my trip. If you are to call I recomend using the Bandit call
