I know deer shed their antlers but other than that it's about all I know about it. How often does a deer shed them? Like how many years do they keep the same set or does it vary by the deer? Sorry for such a noob question.

I don't believe so as they don't really have antlers they only have the buttons

Seeing your handle "home theater man", I would think you could get a lovely "deer DVD" to help explain the antler thingy...
Also, deer do not taste anything like chicken either.

Maybe I need a DVD. I know what deer taste like. I'm not that bad. I've been hunting for several years just never really knew a whole lot about the antlers. I'd hear they shed every year but hardly ever have I heard anyone say anything about them so I just wanted to make sure that was true.

I could be wrong but I believe that button bucks do indeed shed their buttons.

I would agree with Greg, I too believe that button bucks shed their antlers as well... It may just go unnoticed as the younger the deer typically the earlier they shed...
