I know this questions should be in the optics forum but i need info quick before i leave and will have no access to internet for a while and theres hardly anyone in optics forum.Im getting a rangefinder and im not sure which one to get.Ill be using it for shotgun and bow so it dosent have to be a long range one.I was interested in the nikon prostaff 550 but seen mixed reviews at basspro and cabelas online.Any suggestions?

Bushnell Scout 1000 ARC. Work very well, compact, easy to use. You should see if Cabela's is still selling them in the combo with binoculars a knife and DVD. Its an awsome deal and all for the regular price of the rangefinder.
