Make a marinade with a cup of Black Coffee, a cup of tomato sauce and a bunch of garlic, maybe add some liquid smoke. Don't marinade it "american" style and leave it in a bag over night so the only thing you can taste is your marinade. Marinate it for 20 minutes before you grill it. When you grill it, split it open and smear it with a mixture of habanero sauce, sour cream and chives/garlic. Wrap it in bacon or brush with bacon fat (or butter) and grill it to desired doneness. It's got a unique taste to it, the coffee adds something you'll never taste if you don't try it. If you think that one sounds weird, you should see some of my other recipes...

why anyone would marinate a good piece of meat is beyond me. Add some salt and pepper and some garlic powder and fry in a pan with olive oil or grill on the pit. medium rare of course.

Brush with olive oil, and sprinkle with steak seasonings. Put it on the george forman or similar grill for about 5 min. Yummy!

Doesn't sound to me like a lot of these responses are intended for tenderloins. Loins maybe, but they don't need a marinade either.

That goes to the recent post about the backstrap. Is it the loin? is it the tenderloin? various opinions on here to be sure.
