Im kinda gettin into the long range hunters world and wantin a new cal. to fit its needs. I already have a 25/06 AI and 6.5x284 i use for the longer deer hunting ranges...but now i want to invest in a new cal. that i can hunt nething with. And i role my own for all rifles. Anyone use the 7mm STW?

I have owned three 7mmstws and have taken game from pronghorn,to bighorn,to moose and elk with them.The 7mmstw is my favorite big game hunting cartridge.

The 7mm will be great for 1000 yard hunting and you will probably happy with it, but you may want to take a look at a 300 ultra mag if you really want to be prepared for everything you can hunt out to about 1000 yards.

in my rotation is a Sako 7stw W Ziess scope and the thing drops hammers. I like it a lot. got a muzzle break on it to control some recol
