In a light rain i will see deer ,but during a heavy rain no.They'll be beded down when it rains heavy but when it stops they'll be up and moving that's when you want to be out there.

Think about it this way. People tend to stay in when the weather sucks. Deer figure this out. So they move. Sure in the worst of it the tend to hold tight. but when it slows a bit they are up and moving again. If your not out there you will not see them.

Actually the day I shot this one it was a steady downpour. I had seen nothing all morning untill he ran three does in front of me. There wasn't much time between seeing him and putting him on the ground I assure you.

I think they move alot before a storm and in the lulls in the storm. It did seem to slow after I shot him...though I wasn't really paying attention after that. It was still raining in the pics even though it doesn't show much.

No... Deer disappear in the rain.... lol Yeah I actually like hunting in a nice light drizzle. The biggest buck I've ever killed was in a bad rain/sleet storm. It was in 2000 I believe. I was on the school bus coming down the road to our house, and seen a big buck chaseing does up the hill towards a big field We have. So as soon as I got home I put on My camo and went up to that field. Honestly the wind was blowing 40 mph, and it was raining hard. I would have never thought a deer would move in that crap, but I was in the stand for less than an hour, and seen 3 bucks, and 11 does. Right at dark the 11 does came back by My stand and the big boy was following them. I got Him it was a big 9 point scored 142 net.Had a tough time tracking Him, because the rain was getting rid of the blood so fast.
