Want to buy new rifle

RE: Want to buy new rifle
Pretty much any bolt rifle in any caliber you want .243 or bigger. Remington 700 is a classic. I love my browning a-bolt. Savage make a veryaccurate rifle for the money. Tikka's are deadly accurate, even if they have too much palstic for my taste. I even hear pretty good things about the newer Mossberg and Marlin bolt actions that are very affordable. Do not get a Remington 710, or a 770. Any of these will be a huge jump in performance from your old 35 remmy. Be sure to save a few hundred bucks for the scope.
+1 on the latest hottest new caliber, 308 marlin might not be around in 5 years, along with most of the wsm and wssm's. The 300wsm seems safe, others not so much.

Don't Skip looking at the Tikka's. I have owned rugers, remingtons, brownings, all great guns, but I bought a Tikka T3 light in .243 several years back and it shoots laser beams. The bolt is smooth as glass, and I use it for everything from ground squirrels with 70 grain ballistic tips to deer with 100 grain core locks and it puts them all in one inch groups, with the 70 grainers holding 1/2 inch groups at 100yards. After many seasons of use and abuse and well over 1000 rnds it still shoots. Just don't skimp on the glass, a great rifle with a crappy scope is a waste of a rifle, and you only can shoot what you can see andafter all the money spent, having your hunt ruined because you saved 200 bucks on your scope is never worth it.

Ill argue to the death about this...but i think the CZ 500 American in a 6.5x55 swede. is the best there is. I role my own and the 6.5 swede. and my 338 federal are deer slayers. ive also got a 7 wthby mag and all i ahve to say is...hit em with that and there wont be any blood trail.

Too big of a delimma. Way too many options out there...manufacturer, style, model, caliber, etc. I would hurry and decide whichand buy while you can still afford.
I would go with Kimber or a Tikka, bolt action, and anything above a .223 caliber.
