My english teacher assigned us an essay that has to do with any issue the U.S. has... i chose the right to bear arms and why that should always be allowed.... i would like some opinions and thoughts and reasons why you all feel we should always have our guns .... any thoughts are appreciated! also any good websites i could find info on this issue on would be helpful... Only problem is there are no footnotes so it might be hard to back some of the numbers up.

As to why it should be allowed, please see the 2nd amendment to our constitution. It waswritten into the founding document of this nation by men who knew that civilians must be armed to keep government from overstepping its bounds. Any attempt to describe the 2nd amendment as anything else ishogwash.
