scope on rifled shot gun

scope on rifled shot gun
I have a single shot 12 gauge with a burress scope. I was going to sight it in when i noticed the crosshairs are out of alignment. they apeer to be tilted. the scope is on straight. I did not shot it to see if it is hitting center or not, wanted some advice first.
