I know that it's a little early ,or, late depending. I have about 10 acres of crp "weed" and other vegies along a creek surrounded by timber and corn/bean fields. I mowed big paths through the weeds this year. And have a moderate doe population. I'm wondering what I can plant next year as a food source to draw them in. N ext year fields sould be mainly beans. I was thinking about pea's maybe sunflowers ( be nice for doves). Any ideas? I'm in central IL by the way.

Corn, clover, sunflowers as you said, turnips, most anything will do the job for the scenario you've given.

Plant some cloverand turnipsnext spring if you are lacking other winter greens(wheat, honeysuckle, geenbrier).You already have a good set-up.

The corn will draw the doves, no need for sunflower.

Thanks for the input guys. If I do plant turnips or clover in the spring should I disc up some of the crp for the crops or keep it for cover and bedding gounds?
