question on slugs
I plan on shooting the hornady sst sabots this year and was wondering if i sight in at fifty yards to hit 2 1/2 inches high if I will be 6.7 inches low at two hundred yards like it says on the box. I would just dial it in at 150 yds. but cant get to range that often but do have 50 yrd. range at home.

RE: question on slugs
I personally woundn't take a shot over a hundred. In fact I have never killed a deer that was more than 75 yards away. I like it up close and personal. I sighted mine in at 25 and ajust for longer shots...

RE: question on slugs
We have a bunch of open fields, and a 150 yard shot isn't out of the question. I have used Lightfields for years in my 12ga...with a 4x12 or a 3x9 it's only a matter of holding steady.
With my loads, I used to sight in 1½-2" high @ 50 yards...which would still be high @ 100, but coming down to dead on roughly 150. But again, those were Lightfield 3" 12ga shots.

RE: question on slugs
According to the box I should be able to but I was just wondering if anyone had tried it. The slugs are 2 and 3/4 inch300 grain and they fly 2000 feet per second. Faster than most 3 inch slugs.
