1988 Remington Model 7400 270win. Not a tack driver but accurate enough for deer. Or I will use my Stoeger 2000 12ga depending on the county.

Remington 700 .30-06

You just can't beat it. Both deer I shot last year hit the ground like a box of rocks and never got back up.

With a .30-06, you can pretty much shoot anything on the North American continent. And it isn't "too much" for whitetail.

In fair weather I will use the Rem 7600 in .270. In wet weather I will use my Marlin XL7 25-06.

Right on, I am switching back to my 30-06 this year from the 6.5x55. Never had to track a deer I hit with my 06.

This will be my 16th year using my 30-06. I have harvested a lot of deer with it. Me and my pump become one during rifle season.
