Great move using the boat. I boat in to a public land spot that otherwise would only be accessable from a 2 mile walk (no atv's allowed) I do this especially in late gun season when no one wants to get on the lake at 4:30 AM in 20 degree weather. Heck, most guys have their boats put up for the winter by then.
It has payed off for me in that i have taken my biggest buck doing that.
That being said. Just gut the darn thing and throw it in the boat. Wash it down when you get back.
