vabyrd, I used to share your thinking on baiting / feeders when I lived in a state were it was illegal. After moving to NC, I joined a club were most members used corn or something to attract deer to the property, because every surrounding club did as well and deer would not come to our property otherwise.
This deer is propbably three years old and no one on our club has ever seen it. Baiting doesn't guarentee a kill on a big buck. In fact I've never shot a buck near a feeder. Although I'm hoping this is the first. Actually my 12 year old son will be pulling the trigger.
