So have you hunted the area yet? Any sightings of the buck again? Any success?

Your blue dot looks like a likly spot as does the green east-west strip between the fields if the wind is out of the east-north.

Here in Iowa, the winds tend to be at least partly out of the west.
I can't tell by your drawing if there is a north-south fence line on the east edge of the property. If there is, I would use it for a bit for breakup cover north of where the trail enters the corn field. It looks like you should be able to shoot towards the west or south from there, the spacing around the buildings should be ok from a half mile away. Just keep them in mind when you shoot. Hunting from the east edge of the property should give you more wind direction options.

I'd spend some time out there, figuring out what trail the BUCK uses, not the trail the does use, because bucks often use lightly ued trails that kind of parallel heavily used doe trails.

I'd look for rubs on 1-2 inchtrees along a lightly used buck trail, figure out what time of day the buck uses that trail on the property you hunt, and setup downwind, or at least crosswind, of the trail and hunt it when the wind is right, whenver it is the bucks uses it most frequently.

I'm going to aks T.R.Michels if I can post hsi article on Patterning bucks over here, he posted it on his forum.Look for the topic "The Best Way to Hunt a Buck".

I have a spot real similar to what you are describing. I hunt it off the ground out of a Double bull. I have deer daily at under 40 yards. I would put the blind up and leave it they won't even paya bit of attention to you. I had 5 bucks come by this morning and never even looked in my direction.
