ok...here's a question for you. The area that I hunt is filled with ridge then swamp, ridge then swamp, etc.For the last few years the swamps have been fairly dry and the deer have been pattering crossing the ridges and going from swamp to swamp. This year we have had huge amounts of rain and the swamps are very wet with lots of standing water. How will this situation effect the pattering of deer that have been travelling across the swamps for the last decade? Will this wet situation effect the traditional pattering and how?

Is "pattering" kind of like the deers version of patty cake?

for whitetaildreamer....anytime you are hunting swampy areas..you always want to pay attention to the surrounding ridges or "high points" if you will. Deer dont want to swim if they dont have to..so they probably will change their route of travel to the higher grounds if the swamps r really wet/deep.

im not big on huntin bears but some guys in my camp are and all they use believe it or not..is hostess cupcakes..twinkies etc..sum grocery store or sumthin just gives them all the expired "treats" and they fill a 50 gallon barrel full of it and lay it over in front of there stand..seems to work well for them..hunting black bears.

Do the bears wear blue uniforms and have badges?

hahaha to funny...but yea at the camp that my dad i guide at we use liquid cotton candy mollasses and chocolate and cherry pie filling by the buckets....i was just testin ya
