I have a redbone pup that will strike and run his own coon with or without other dogs, but will not stick on the tree. What can I do to get him to stick?

The ideal scenario would be to have a raccoon carcass or rag saturated with a raccoon scent. Drag the scent from a tree in the area that you expect to be the end of the course, and drag it towards the beginning. This will make sure the trail gets hotter as you move towards the target, and train your coon dog to follow the trail towards raccoons instead of away from them. Start with short, heavily scented paths, and then move on to longer, more complex routes. Always end with your saturated carcass or rag in a tree, teaching the dog that raccoons will go up trees and the dog should stay there until you arrive to shoot. hope this helps

haha, well done. I also use box trapped coons where you can stay with the dog the whole way right up to the tree. That was just a test to see how well versed you actually are. You passed

You can't even spell Answers right?

What is the average number of poop pellets for a mature buck, a Doe and a fawn?
What do they taste like?

I didnt say I was master at spelling TimberCreek. The frequency that a deer poops changes between the spring and the fall. In the fall a deer will average 13 poops per day where in the spring it jumps to a whopping 24! You tell me when they feed more, and if you add in their 11 to 17 times a day of urination that is also a lot of scent being deposited. If you want cheap scent block (free) find a pile if deer poop and step in it! I also came to find out that the average number of pellets per pile is 74. No I did not sit down at every pile I found and count the poop, this was an actual test performed by biologists. It is said that if there are more than 74 then chances are good that it was from a buck. Happy counting!
