Buck in hunter orange vest
I just heard my first eyewitness report of a buck wearing a hunter orange vest here in Arkansas. I guy I know was trout fishing over the weekend and saw one in the woods along side the river. I would never have believed it if I hadnt heard about it here first.

Urban legend alert! Urban legend alert! Watch out there's Big Foot behind you.<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>
I'll give any member on this board $1000 who can catch a wild buck and put an orange vest on him!
SCRIDER, I think you've been had. Think about it.

I know of a few people that have taken in fawns from car-killed does and nursed them til they grew. They kept the deer in the house as a pet at times and during deer season they put a orange vest or a orange bandanna around it's neck. In a few years it grew into a nice 8 point buck and they couldn't keep it in the house because it got rammy and mean. A neighbor shot it across the road in a field chasing some does with the orange vest on it knowing that it was their pet (which I think is illegal, The pet part) And there ended up being a huge feud over it. These people have nursed many wild animals back to health. This is what could have happened in your case.

Why do we as hunters where orange?
If you guessed, "so other hunters can see us in the woods", you win.
Now with that said why would somebody put an orange vest on a deer that they didn't want a hunter to shoot?

Deer are actively hunting nowadays! They just started to hunt humans and do not want to get shot by other deer!
