I always thought that too, but in two of my shotguns with interchangeable chokes I actually got better groups with the modified than I did the with the IC depending on what loads I was using. It is worth experimenting with at any rate.

heck i am sure you would be ok, as far as how accurate depends on the gun, my dad use to shoot slugs out of a 410 and he would kill woodchucks and other little critters with em for a challenge and that had a FULL fixed choke.
