I think on high fenced places where protien is force fed (ouch) it is a lot more common than real world hunting. I have known 1 person in my lifetime that has killed a droptine buck on a free range / low fence place

It depends on the genetics of an area and how many bucks survive to maturity, but over all it is rare, and if you harvest a droptine buck cherish the moment.

I shot one in KS last year that was a freak of a buck. Up there with all the age/genetics/nutrition they are really not that uncommon. I hunted up there probably 10 days last season and saw 2 (1 i shot), and the farmers had a few on the wall as well. I think it has to do a lot with genetics and age.

I've only seen one once in the wild. Actually found the shed after it broke off in a fight. I know of two that were shot in PA and heard of one running around last year.

Here's the shed I found fromthe droptine buck. He also busted off his brow tine before shedding. The other shed is from a different buck.

I have never seen one. One of my brothers "said" he saw one last year.A coupleof my buddies also said they saw one. My buddy then got these trail cam photo last week:

Im not even sure that this buck would be considered having a true droptine. But this is what i believe they saw last year. The same area also had a 1 antlered deer running around, this could possible be him as well.
