How common are droptines?

Who has had the oppotunity to take 1 of these deer home? I have yet to see 1, so exactly how common are they? It's not genetics, but damage to an antler that causes this right?

From the hunting shows I have seen.
The drop tine is caused from genetics.

I moght be wrong, Im no expert.
Thats just what the hunting shows say.

I have never been fortunate enough to see to one in person and I have been hunting since I was 11 and that is 23 years of deer hunting. So I would say from my experience they are not very common.

I have no idea what causes them.

quite rare, certainly genetics, and age/nutrition, many of these 2.5yo bucks and younger maybe have them in their potential, but they never make it.

Also ive seen alot of guy's "droptines" 1 inch drop, or a number of the bottom isn't a drop to me, so real drops even more rare in my view.

Cousin found a shed with 3 monster drops on 1 side, years ago, boy is that awesome to see.

Really if we let those young ones grow up we'd see many more, but by areas etc..genetics I think you'll find higher density zones for drops...

I have never seen one either , so I guess they are fairly rare.

Not "real" common. AGE and Genetics. As with sticker points, they may show up one year, and not the next. Drop tines are cool as far as I am concerned.

I have seen a few from my area, I guess I am one of the lucky ones. My first buck ever at the age of 17 was a 10 pt with a 7" drop tine. I am not sure if it was genetic or damage though.

They are not common in my area. I've been deer hunting for a long time and I've never seen one. I have seen two killed by other hunters not too far from my land.
