Slug Chokes?
My daughter is going on her first deer hunt with me this year. She probably won't need to shoot more than 40 yds. so I was just going to use rifled slugs out of a BPS 20 ga. smooth bore. What is the correct choke tube? Any other info may be helpful! Thanks

I would look for any warnings on the box or the manufacturers website, but an improved cylinder should work fine.Shoot a few of a couple of brands and see which one targets the best.

Normally you want they most open choke you can get. Usually I go with an Improved Cylinder or a Modified. Some of my guns with certain loads actually shoot a bit better with the modified choke even though it's a bit tighter. For as cheap as rifled slugs are it's worth a try to see how it performs with both.
DO NOT shoot it without a choke installed though!!!!! The ends of the barrels are pretty thin without a choke installed and you run the risk of messing up your choke threads.

Thanks for all your help!
I'll try an IC. for my 12ga. and I just bought a H&R 20ga. for for my daughter to use. When mywife and I hunt together she'll use it and I'll still have the 12 till I can pick up another one.
Thanks again!
