WoW!!! How scary is Bowfanatic' s reply??!!!
The deer I harvested with the third antler is about 45 miles from a nuclear power plant. The owner of the property that I lease, works at this nuclear power plant, no joke!!!
..............this may explain a few things..................[8D]

I have done a little more research on this animal and others like the one pictured above. I have been told by more than a few that, when, and if, two bucks happen to fight or spar while still in early velvet, one buck' s antlers may peirce the others skin, leaving behind a small piece of velvet left under the cut, thus developing into an abnormal antler later in the cut animal wound. I do remember reading somewhere that experiments with antlers in velvet, can produce some very odd things. One interesting note was, an experiment consisted of removeing an antler in early velvet, and in one case, imposing a restriction to alter the natural growth (a bend) of a tine. In both cases the following year, without any restictions whatsoever, the antlers were allowed to grow freely. Both antlers had resumed a " memory" so to speak, and returned to the near same formation as the year before with the restrictions or alterations. If any one else has any information on this, I would like to hear from you.
Thanks!

]I' ve never seen anything like that. I' d say it' s a freak of nature. I dont think it' s too common unless you live by a nuclear plant.
