I've got to tell you all that I think hunting is well doomed if we have so many who think Nugent is good for hunting. Maybe it's the (young) age bracket of those on this forum, but I think our future is looking mighty bleak if this is how we want ourselves to be portrayed to others. As they say: " You make your bed and then you sleep in it ". Good luck thinking that Nugent is the man here, because you will need it!!

This is how i portray my self to non-hunters(not anti-hunters): When I get permisson to hunt on someones property, I leave it cleaner than when I got there, buy picking up trash, I inform them of any abnormalities on their property. Just this spring I informed a farmer of a tree that had fallen in one of his fields, he said it saved him the trouble of showing up to work the field only to have to remove the tree, he could do it beforehand. Also I assure them I will not damage their property if it is too muddy to be driving on dirt lanes. This has got many thanks over the years. But I stress again you will never convince an anit-hunter you are doing good. Just visit PETA's web site and check out the forums. The put animals above humans. And they are the ones that can Kiss My Ass.

People get mad cuz he has the guts to say things we all want to say. yes he's a little out there but I don't wanna get in to how he compares to other hunters. Overall, (like someone else said) I have nothing bad to say about people who stand up for us as hunters. Yes, he's not the perfect spokesman for our sport but o well.

Uncle Ted may not mix words, but he has a passion for hunting, our heritage, and our troops. I have a real hard time opposing this. The man is eccentric, but he is eccentric about the things that matter. I respect him.

He feeds animal rights activists ammunition to combat their cause.

I'll always respect a person for being true to themselves - for being an individual. But I believe Ted hurts the sport he loves.

Problem with Nugent is that he's old enough to remember when you could buy guns and ammo from Sears, through the catalog by the way, and have it mailed to you. You can't do that anymore.

He's old enough to remember when you came back from the woods with your deer strapped to your car and nobody saw anything objectionable about that. That's not true anymore.

He remembers when vegetarians were considered weird and kept it to themselves. Now they wave it in the face of us normal people and tell us we should be nice to animals instead of eating them.

I think he gets pi$$ed off about that and so do I. And what pi$$es us off even more is that there are so many people who start peeing their panties at the idea of offending the anti-gun/anti-hunt/PETA weenies.

I don't have the verbal skills to come across the way Nugent does, but I wish I did.
