Last day of shotgun season
I WILL NEVER FORGET THIS
So I took my little cousin out the last day of shotgun season. We sit down and we are there maybe 20min and this little guy (10 years old) says there is a buck! He is looking out in front of us but I don't see anything within 100 yards. He picks up my 12g Remington 11-87 deer slayer editionusing 3" shells and its scoped. So there he is holding my gun and I don't see anything! Of course I din't bring binoculars so I was kind of ticked. We only had a buck permit so im worried this little guy is going to shoot a doe or soemthing. I started to say "take your time"...Next thing I know BANG! The little guy gets knocked off his chair and on his butt in the blind. I asked him if he got it and he said he din't know. So we start walking out there and and get about 100 yards out and I asked him where the deer was when he shot and he just says over here. So I am following a 10 year old...we get out to185 yards and here lies this deer...one shot...to the neck. I asked my littledude if that is where he was aiming...he said "no, I was trying to hit is head". I started laughing so hard!...this memory will stick with me FOREVER!

RE: Last day of shotgun season (WARNING DEAD DEER PIC)
Congrats to your cousin.
Please teach him to shoot at the vitals, if he had missed the same amount left he would have blown off the deer's snout and it wouldn't been as good a day. You missa few incheslittle left in the rib cage you still bring home the deer.
10 yrs old with a shotgun at 185 yards taking a head shot, very glad it turned out the way it did.
