so... is it ok out to 40 yards
I had a really nice MP5 that I would take a shot on a deer with at 40 yards, if I absolutely had to do it in a survival-type situation. If you are thinking about attempting to hunt with a $150 Jennings, don't do it.

RE: 9MM

Just get a real gun, 9mm(350 ft/lbs)aint it. Try atleast a 41 mag, 44,454, 460,480, or 500(1000-2800 ft/lbs)even better. A true marksman can do it with a 6" 357 (750 ft/lbs)with the hottest heaviest ammo, but 9mm isn't good enough, and probably illegal. A few people have done the job with a 10mm(700 ft/lbs), but 9 isnt even close to a hunting weapon.Youwant atleast 800 ft/lbs (1000 ft/lbs better) out a handgun for hunting. Remember deer always have on the leather coats, so you need some real thump.
