RE: building a ground blinds what should i use
8 by 8 or 8 ft by 12ft is closer to a small cabin, there's little reason to have it more then 5-6 ft by 4ft by say 5 or 6 ft high, and that's for an actual ground blind, sounds like your thinking more towards a tree house, elevating something 5-10 ft that would be 8 by 8 to 8 by 12 ,would be very difficult.
if you keep it on the ground, all you'll need is treated 2 by 4's,frame then cover with plywood. for an elevated covered instand,i haven't tried using posts,i have 1 spot with 4 big trees that were perfect for building basically a 6 ft by 4 ft treehouse, about 12 ft high floor basewas as high as thetrees would allow.used 2 by 6's for the floor and 2 by 4's treated lumber for the walls. |
