I couldn't imagine not being able to hunt on Sunday. Like what was already stated, the weekends is often times the "only" time some individuals are able to go hunting.

It should be the choice of the individual on whether they want to carry the ritual/tradition of not hunting on Sunday. If you're a Church goer, then I don't think the law is going to effect you anyways, as you're going to continue to go to Church on Sundays. I just don't see the logic behind the law, and am suprised it actual is a law considering there should be a seperation between church & state.

A few years back they passed the Sunday hunting law in Wv but then put a rider to let each county vote it out if they wanted to. And guess waht most counties voted it OUT. The reasons were for most Church and some people saying that was the only day they could enjoy the outdoors and were afraid of being shot. All of these reasons are stupid in my opinion. I have been hunting for over 50 years and I could count on one hand how many people I have saw walking in the woods in October,November or December besides hunters scouting.
And now in Wv they are worring that hunting liscence sales are down and what to do about it. So in their reasoning lets raise the price and charge more for extras tags. But lets increase the number of damage claims to the farmers who will not let hunters onto their land to help keep the herds under control. It stinks we as hunters can attend all the hearings and contact all the delegates we want but it does no good at all.

Michigan had a few counties that had no sunday hunting. They were all repealed in 2003. Most of these laws dated back to to 20's.

No issue with it here in MS.. So I can't imagine why it is banned in other states..

It's not banned here in Georgia, and we are smack in the middle of the Bible belt! Personally, I don't think it matters what day of the week you hunt. It's a personal conviction as to what you feel God leading you to do. You can glorify God while hunting just as much as you can glorify God while NOT hunting. As long as you give God the glory due to HIM, I say hunt when you want.

Obey the current laws, but do what you can to get current laws changed if they don't make sense.

X2...unbelievable that almost all the couties have voted it out. as others have said it's unreal that unless we take vacation days we can't hunt 2 days in a row.

I think it is BS!!! We (well I do because I live in IOWA!!!)should have the right to hunt on Sundays!!!

I think you might want to research a little on the far right because the other end of spectrume wants to take your gun and a lot of other rites away from you as well. I'm not saying they are bad people,I just want to keep my freedom to choose.

Pretty interesting. I've never been able to hunt Sunday, so doing without is not that big of a deal. If the reason they banned it is religion, so be it. The religious right being against it doesnt seem to work though, that would mean the left is for it?I was surprised at the map though. I dont know how much of it has to do with population density, but interesting. Growing up theidea was that you let the woods kinda quiet down. We didnt even shoot guns on Sunday. Iguess Im still not convinced on the argument though.Some act like they should'nt have to usevacation time to hunt. What the hell? You use leave to go to the doctor, why do you feel entitled to days off to hunt? If it wasn't forSundays, some of these yahoos would never get the hellout of the woods, especially the friggin dog runners. There is enough problems with guys shooting dozens of deer a year, spotlighting, trespassing, poaching,dumping deer along the road. If its a management tool, just lengthen the season by a week or so.

Besides,Sunday is forprocessing& wrapping.....if you hunt 7 days aweek, when would the work get done???
