the things you say about me are coming out of yourself. at this point you are not worth the time to go back and get the posts where you did say the things you deny.i showed you where the proof was and you can not find it. is that my fault? no!the mud slinginging was started by you when others started agreeing with me about your attutudes of superiority.maybe you should read several times so you can remember what you said.

Its clearly obvious we all have our own views on this topic, and since i use both a compound and a cross bow.. i am a bit "on the fence" so to speak. I dont agree that there should be seperate seasons, as i think this will lead to even more seperate seasons and the time in the woods will be dramatically decreased. I love the "bow hunt" scenerio, the prep, the scouting, the practice, the sitting on stand for hours, just waiting for that chance when all your hard work pays off, now whether i shoot a compound or a crossbow at that glorious moment does not matter to me, what matters is how i got to that point to have that chance. I do however DISTINCTLY disagree with the monkey comment, i may be hairy BUT I AINT THAT HAIRY!!!!

Please allow me to apologize. The monkey thing was not directed at any crossbow hunter. I was trying to point out that the crossbow IS easy to master. I still stand on that point. It was not, however, intended to offend as it obviously did. For that I apologize to you and every one here thatwas offended by it. I know I said too bad before, but the fact that it keeps coming back has caused me to rethink it. I think that if you can forgive that indiscretion you would probably agree the rest of our debate (when you or I directly addressed one another) has been civil and in the right spirit. Again my apologies for that statement!

MoBow; I disagree with your comment about dedication. Crossbow hunters have to be just as dedicated to hunting to be successful as other bow hunters. Shooting other bows takes more time and archery skills but the deer still have to be brought into range. It takes more skill shooting a longbow than a compound. It's even easier if the compound has 80% let off, but I don't hear anyone saying they're a copout.

Damn; the next thing you know people will say semiautomatics are a copout over bolt actions. You know; the rifle hunters must read these posts and think we need to give our heads a good shake.

After running down through all 8 pages of this thread, I beleive it's about time the Moderator(s) acted and put a lock on this. It is getting us nowhere. Crossbows are here, they need their place. Making a separate season will just shorten another. DON'T ROCK THE BOAT! Most of us have been blessed with seasons of reasonable length. It's been interesting, but it seems this subject is getting to HOT! Please Mr. Moderator, close it up and let us get our senses back.

Dan O., even though in Ontario, it is legal to hunt with a cross-bow during the archery season, I'm sure you will agree that there are some &quot;hunters&quot; who have purchased/acquired cross-bows just to take advantage of the early archery seasons in this province. I personally know of three who have done this. All three had no prior experience with any type of archery. They just wanted in on the early seasons. Cross-bow was the way to do it. Easy to shoot, not much preparation required. Granted an animal still has to be within range (they think 50 yards is within range). There are always people who will attempt to take advantage of situations and thank goodness they are in the miniority. And folks, I DO NOT hunt with these guys. True archery hunters, including most cross-bow huters, do have the dedication to learn and use their equipment well, and to those hunters, I salute you.
