found a good gold mine today not realy but better
Well today it was about 60 here so we went fishing
At a local lake on a wma
The fish were not biting so I went to hike a trail that runs around the back of the lake.
There is no roads and only walk in trail so no one goes back there.
I start in got about 50 yards from the camp ground and started seeing
Track and a nice rub on a tree.
Got some pics will post them when I get them off my camera
Also found a big pile of poo next to it and from the tracks I would say it is a nice size buck.
I walked about 1.2 mile or more in found 3 for sure rubs and maybe a 4th all good size and alot of trails.
the area is a gold mine it is a in trail that goes along the lake it either has little ponds on each side of it or high hills or cliffs that would make great blind sights there any were 10 to 25 feet high and thick
I did not see any deer but more tracks then I have anywhere including the private land i hunted this year
i am not sure why the deer come down the trail into the camp ground there is nothing in the camp ground to eat there people there all summer
So who knows?
There were tons of acorns all over the place and a few spots that were dug down to get to them
And when I started to head back I seen a old junk yard that had a clearing by it and when I left I went down the back road and the road is like 100
Yard off the trail but there is no parkingand no pull over areas
So I do not think anyone goes up in there and I did not see any trash pop cans or cig butts so no signs of people
I plan to scout it out some more
But since it is getting cold again and I get knee surgery the 7th it will more then likely wait until spring
Wish I know about it 6 months ago get place my dad walked it back in oct and saw some running doe and the back side but I never made it back there since I found some private land
