What time do you usually get in your treestand or into the woods, and why? I've talked to people who like to get in them 2 hours before sunrise. Is this excessive? Just wanted to see what you all thought. I guess it could depend on the time of year. I prefer late season bowhunting for some reason (maybe I'm just too busy at the beginning of the season), but i guess I'm asking pre-rut, rut, and post rut, if it changes any?

usually not more than 30 or 40 min. Especially in late season when it gets cold out.

D--alot of it depends on wether you are hunting pressured or lightly pressured deer. Obviously if the deer you are hunting are pressured, you want to arrive to your stand earlier. Also, you have to think of where you are hunting....are you hunting off a crop field trying to catch them moving back to their beds? Are you hunting hundreds of yards away from the food source? Are you hunting in the morning? afternoon?

If you are hunting pressured deer, especially with a bow, I would say getting on stand and being silent for nearly 1 hour before shooting light. Now if they are not pressured, just 1/2 hour before shooting light would be ok. Alot of the times in late season the deer move 30-60 minutes before sundown so you probably should get in there no less than 3 hours before sundown.

I like to be sitting down 15 minutes before it is light in most cases, sometimes lots earlier, but sometimes it is better to sneak in in the daylight....

Depends on how many times I hit the "snooze" button.

I usually try to get in there at least 30 or so minutes before first light.

The first 2 days of opening day I always get in my stand 30 to 45 minsbefore daylightso the noise of me walking in and my light dies down... After that the rest of the hunting season I only try and get there about 15 to 20 mins early...[/align]
