Default How many of you have heard..

A buck "roar" or "growl"? I have a buddy that has heard this twice this year and once last year. I have been hunting for about 20 years and I have yet to hear it. I was just wondering, how many of you have heard it?

No, I have never. I've heard bucks grunt only a few times and they have been close when I heard it. I've only heard antlers rattling once or twice. I did hear a doe grunt this year for the first time. She was grunting at her fawn. One thing I do hear about every year is a fawn making a sound that sounds like "spit" and they do it over and over. I don't know what it means. I hunt all seasons and almost every day of the season.

Heard a growl once. It came from a 2 1/2 yr old 10 pt who was chasing a doe. I have heard bucks and does grunt alot.I have had the fortune to have heard a breeding sequence once of an estrous doe bellowing likethe primos can and a buck doing the tending grunt sounds. Before I saw them, I thought someone else was in the woods with me. Itwas awesome. The doe bleated probably 5 to 6 different times.

I have heard growling in the woods over the years but I allways assumed it was a fox or some other dog like animal.

Once in 20+ years hunting. Well I heard it about 5-6 times during that "one" situation. Big buck chasing a little buck away from his hot doe.
