I use gerber fixed blade, but have used case folders. Bottom line, any quality knife will work if it is SHARP.

I have a kershaw vapor its a folder and I always use it to clean my deer from balls to freezer. It stays in my hunting pack and is always sharp.

I have a buck alpha folder and a buck 118. I like them both but I prefer a drop point blade so I use my alpha. I've always had good luck with buck, but that does't mean it's the best out there. You always seem to get a good knife for the $$ though.

An old (60's model) folding blade Schrade. Gutted and skinned over 100 whitetails with it.

I bought a K-Bar knife with a 4" fixed blade several years ago ( at least 40 years ago ). It has served me well . I carry it in the back pack so I won't lose it .
