RE: It took 34 years but I got one!!!
Yep it's freshly falling snow. We have so much of the stuff here right now that I'm glad I finished when I did. Not to mention it's getting COLD!!!
I'm not going to get the entire head mounted on this one. My wife isn't too happy about the hunting situation around the house so I'm taking things slowly. I'm going to have the antlers mounted and put in the garage or the cottage. The area I was hunting hold some really big deer so hopefully in the next few years I'll get a chance to take an even nicer one and then I'll just have to get it mounted!!!
Funny that someone mentions the Federal Fusion thing and saying they are junk. I have heard so many debates about that topic. It kinda reminds me of the Ford/Chev/Dodge debate...everyone has their preferences. The reason I got them was I am very new to hunting with rifles so when I bought my gun the guy told me the Fusion would be a good round for whitetail...and so far he was right...it worked for me. The thing about living in Canada is ammo is expensive (like a lot of other things). Take Remington Core-Lokts for example...up here we are playing close to $30 for a box of them. Fusions were a decent price and after dropping some $$$ on the new gun I didn't want to break the bank even more with some premium ammo. I'm thinking of playing with Hornady rounds next year...see what I can get out of them.
