3000 could be a good price for farmland depending on the soil quality. As someone else said, 2500 is kind of steep for that part of the state, especially since real estate prices have recently slowed a bit. I'm not saying that some people won't pay 2500, but others that look around can find land for 2000 or less.

In upstate NY the land is rediculous. We are looking for something around the 20-25 acre size. Really cant touch anything for under $5000-$6000 an acre.
