Deer Farms
I understand that there are now something over 300 deer farms scattered around New York State. I guess I am now more skeptical than ever about some of the super tropy racks that seem to be a whole lot more common than they were 20 years ago. This is an embarassing trend.

RE: Deer Farms
Deer farms have something to do with it... but...
People actually understand what it takes for a big deer to happen now too... you are seeing more big non bred deer too due to better management practices.
This is really the golden age of trophy deer hunting.
Deer numbers are great.
Public support for deer hunting is apathetic to positive.
Limits are high.

RE: Deer Farms
One of the properties that borders where we hunt in Colden is a deer farm. I believe he lost a deer through his fence a year ago, we've been seeing a big 10pt buck, not sure if it is the particular deer he may have lost... Either way maybe this year one of us will harvest it, worst case maybe he can contribute some better genetics to our heard. I'm all for it if they let a few escape now and then
