New Iowa Property
Howdy all, wife and I just bought our retirement property in South Central Iowa. I found that property values in this depressed area are dirt cheap. Over the past eight years while the wife and I have been looking for that perfect place, I've found that a lot of wealthy people from out of state have been coming in and paying outrageous prices per acre driving the prices out of the average persons range. Land that a few years ago would have gone for $1800 per acre are now being listed (and sold) for $5000 to $8000 per acre. All because the world record white tail was (illegally) taken 30 miles from here. I hope the next world record white tail is taken somewhere a long way away! Now that I feel better, I'll get off my soapbox and apologize for taking up your time.

That is beautiful and I hope you enjoy it. The campground looks great for in-laws and how can anyone beat a 7 acre lake on their property. If there aren't any fish in it I hope ya stock it with some crappies. =)
Any decent deer signs around?

Looks like a dandy piece of land. Hopefully it will yield some big boys! You need any old, seasoned hunting partners my wife and I'll be glad to come up and help! Good luck.

1. Its in Lucas County.
2. All ponds are stocked with LM Bass, Crappie, Blue Gill, and Channel Cat (5 total on property).
3. Only lived there 3 weeks. Have trail cams up and seeing a lot of deer, just no big boys yet.
4. Have plowed up three areas for food plots (one N of big pond, one E of big pond, and one on N side of campgrounds).
5. Bugs - b4 I start having others come hunt, my son and I are going to see what we can do this year.
Thanks to all.
