Go to expertgps.com, you can D/L it free for 30 days. I paid for the subscription and would be willing to give you the code after 30 days if it is waht you are looking for. I take my Garmin GPS out into the woods, walk, scout and mark waypoints. I go home, plug my GPS into the computer and it D/Lthe bread crumb trail that I walked and all waypoints that I have marked. I can alos look at the aerial photo and mark points and it will give the me coords to then type into my GPS to take out into the field. You can overlay topo and aerial photos with one click. Check it out and let me know.

I use Toposcout and it will allow me to set up GPS points and routes. The newer Terrian Navagator has the same features and more for a very reasonable $99.95 for each state or region. I think that Terrain Navagator is by far the best value forthe money. Here is the link:

Here are some links to shareware mapping products you can check out. I am no familiar with all of their features.

Duckdog,
The software I use is AutoCad Land Desktop. It is an engineering and surveying software. It runs about $5,000. If I didn't have access to it at work I wouldn't be using it. What is so nice about it is I can also put text anywhere I want, and draw lines anywhere. Works great for labeling treestands, food plots, property lines, trails, etc. I can also figure acreages for food plots and get distances from one point to another.

Go to www.jdmcox.com and download the USAMAPS software he has there for free. It's "exactly" what your looking for. You can get your GPS coordinates right from the map and/or mark the map with the GPS coordinates form your GPS unit. It gives distance to points etc... It's exactly what I was looking for and what you asked about.
