hogzilla not as big as we thought

The National Geographic special has been aired over and over during the past 2 years so I'm actually pretty surproised that there are still so many folks that haven't seen it? I know that most of the non-hunters I work with have seen it and discussed it with me.
The pig that the 11 year old shot a while back is just a sad case for the so-called "Outfitter". I have never heard of a guy buying a breeder Boar like that and thenallowing it to be shot as soon as he got it! After all it was supposed to be a "Breeder" wasn't it??? Another black eye for the hunting world.

Did you guys hear about that one that a 11yr old kid supposedly shot. It was in our paper up here and it was suppose to be bigger then hogzilla. They said it measured 9' 4" and weighed 1,051 lbs. Remember now hes 11 yrs old and he shot this hog with a .50 cal handgun. The hog was definately huge but I just dont believe an 11yr old could fire that .50 cal. That part sounded suspicious to me but I guess stranger things have happened. Any ways it was a HUGE hog. You could probably google it to find the info/picture.

The version I heard was that it had been raised as a pet until 3 days before the "hunt." The lady who owned it said that she would regularly hand feed it. Where I come from, we call that slaughtering a domestic pig.
An impressive sized farm animal, belongs at the county fair in the livestock competition, not in any hunting discussion.
