why dont we just ask what state you live in because thats what everybody seems to be putting. imo i think you would actually have to hunt many places to determine the best but from just what ive seen on tv and such id give the nod to montana for shear numbers and ohio for bruisers.

Like most on here I enjoy my home state as well, there is not an over population here that is for sure. But, you really have to hunt for them and be able to call em in.

Where do you get the idea that "small" bodied Texas deermay be due to "game trophy farming"? It is solely a function of genetics and environment. Even within Texas there are regional differences in body size. For example, South Texas deer are much larger than Hill Country deer.
