To those of you who own a 270 what grain bullet do u use for deer hunting? do you have a reason or did u just pick that bullet and stick with it.. i use 150 grain.. no problems yet dont seem to be " over kill " or anything. Should i change or stay with the 150 grain.. also who uses cor-lokts ( spelling ? ) and what grain do you use in those

My son and I shoot 140 gr Win Supreme Accubonds in our 270's and have killed 30+/- deer with them, but I shot 150 gr bullets for years and killed 50+/- deer without losing a single animal.

I am curious why curth83 thinks 150 gr is going to be too big?!?

maybe im wrong but it seems to me 150 isnt too big at all.. larger rifles usually have bigger grains for the same animal? dont they.. though i have only shot 5 deer with my 270 usuing 150 so i cant speak alot there have dropped 3 and other 2 went less than 20 yards.. one of the ones i dropped was from 220 yards..

I've used a 150 gr. also but my .270 seems to prefer the 140 gr. bullet. The ballistics are a little faster and flatter shooting.
