I was wanting to know how long it takes usually to get a Deer back from the Processor... for those of you that take them there?
Tomorrow will be 10 days, and I have'nt gotten mine back yet. I'm aggravated. I'm planning on picking it up tomorrow, as they told me today, they'll be getting to the last one's at that time.
I'm trying another Business next year, I e-mailed them, and they said they process one in 5-7 days. That beats 10...
It's not Braggin if you back it up...

My processor gets them done in 2-3 days. I'd rather they hang 'em for 4 or 5 days, though supposedly it doesn't make any difference in flavor, I still believe it does. 10 days is too long even in a cooler. They'll be cuting away a lot of meat to remove the dried surface and mold so I'd expect your yield will be low....or, they're not giving you the meat from the deer you killed, but someone elses they received more recently. hmmmmm.

I wound up with 45 pound of Steak... and 5 pounds of Hamburger, and 6 pounds of Summer Sausage. I'm trying the Sausage now. Tasty...

It depends on how busy there are and if they do it full time or just evenings and weekends, The longest I ever waited was 5 days, I found a new butcher and I get it within 1-3 days. I had a butcher that wants you there so you can see that it is your deer, and thats its your meat, then any problems with bad meat you can see, and make a decision on what you want to do with it. Good luck
