The only way I could see it happening would be in VERY VERY large fields, and multiple four wheelers. But one four wheeler in a regular field. I am not buying that. Tom.

Not that hard to do in a large field. One or two minutes of straight out full bore running, in circles, with twists and turns and thewhitetail becomes a different animal. Got to realize they are not designed for that kind of evasion. There is no predator in the world that can run flat out full speed for over a minute or two. Most predators throw in 20-30 seconds and if they ain't caught it, it gets a rain check. The only thing capable ofthat kind of extended exertion is a machine.Same with humans in a fight, 1-2 minutes of full out fighting and then kaput. If you never give the deer a chance to rest after a five minutes of chasing I'd think you'd be able to get off and wrestle them down to the ground by hand. In fact most animals especially if its warm out automatically stop after their bodies begin to overheat too much which is what would occur if they were being chased by an ATV and running at full speed in warm weather.

Would be much easier to jacklight them and pop them with a .22 and a lot less potential damage to ATV's and people. But, there is a general lack of common sense under such circumstances.

Uncle Matt,
If i wanted to outlaw some deer, an ATV would be the last thing i would use. I went coon hunting (on foot) the last time i was back home in Illinois. I lost count of the deer who stood there with the light shining in their eyes in easy .22 range. Good thing I'm now a model citizen[&:]
And if i couldn't afford food, I would do a lot more with a deer than cut out its loins.
