I have some experience in this area! But proper way to handle this goes like this: Post the property at all gates and at given lengths down neighboring fences.Patrol the property if possible and and make contact with adjoining property owners to disscuss boundries and become friends.If someone is found and no game violations have occured on property talk to them to see if it was honest mistake coming in in the dark or if they are just dumb and can't read the posted signs.Diplomacy first,if you find someone hunting in the wrong that means they have a weapon...if you don't have one on you that means theres a disadvantage and being nice is the safest idea!In Texas land doesn't have to be posted.Here on private property the land owner or agent can file crimanal tresspass charges;Class C missdeameanor punishable by 20-200 dollar fine-no jail.No come the firearm added to the mix! That bumps it up to a Class A which means they can and usally do jail your butt and if convicted can be up to 1 year jail time and possible 4000 buck fine! I had a misscommunication in the past and plead mine down to Class B with time served and $1000 fine plus attorney fees! Try diplomacy first!

I have 640 acres of my own to hunt on. Out of the 640 I have 160 that is my honey hole for hunting to which I plant and have posted. All the surrounding neighbors know that is a no, no to go there. They are allowed to hunt on my other properties. As well I get to hunt on theirs except their honeyhole. That gives me about another 5000 acres, plus crown

I got a note from a landowner once.i got permission from the guy leasing the ground for farming but he failed to mention the landowner himself was kind of a bunny hugger.He lives a couple hours north of here and only comes around about once a year, he noticed my stand, nailed a polite note underneath it asking me to pull it and I did.The guy that leased the place had several hundred more acres he lets me hunt so it wasnt worth making an issue out of.Pissed the leaser off because he thought he had hunting rights in his lease, I never bothered to find out if he did or not, wasnt worth losing more ground over.Id go with the note first, confiscating his stand second
