I would have to say, hands-down, my grandfather. He taught me so much and instilled in me a respect for wildlife and a true passion for hunting and fishing. He was my fishing buddy since I was six and my hunting buddy since I was 12. He was truly an outdoorsman and I hope that I can be like him one day. Once he passed, my uncle took the reins. He is also an incredible source of knowledge and has taught me more than any book ever could.

I really mean no offence, but saying Michael Wadel is your favorite hunter is like saying William Shatner is your favorite astronaut. I enjoy hunting shows too, but the people on them arent doing anything special, they just have better opportunities than most hunters. Hope I didnt sound too mean spirited I just think we give celebrities way too much credt.

I really do envy you all who had friends & family introduce you to hunting at an early age. My family is mostly from NYC and huntingwasjust not part of our culture, but I always dreamed about it .Now Im much older and hunting is my life , but now I have the opposite problem , none of the kids I know seem to have any interest in hunting . They all wanna play video games.I wish I knew me 20 years ago. Can anyone else relate?
