Deer depending on where you live are probably on the lower end of being big game to somewhere in the middle. At least in North America, now some of the deer in other countries I don't know if I would consider big game, some are pretty small.

Medium game would be dog sized animals in most cases. I don't know what large cats or pigs would be considered? They might even be considered dangerous game?

Yeah, if a person says it's too small to be a big game animal, we might as well say the antelope aren't. I get your point, I just wonder why they're always seperated in catagories, like there's a deer hunting forum, and they're not in the Big Game forum.

It's because deer are the #1 big game animal to hunt in our country. Nearly every state has them...and for other big game, such as elk or moose, people usually have to dish out some considerable cash to be able to travel and hunt them.

Deer seasion is a big game to the deer around hereLOL. They will walk arround a hunter full well knowing he is there.Sometimes the hunter is walking and the deer will move out of his way and lay back down. Its a big game.

I never thought of white tail being big game. Maybe a mulie but not a white tail . I can pack a whitetailout in one trip. Big game your not going to be dragging it out in one trip, thats why they call it big game. The preperation for hunting whitetails and hunting elk, moose, bear, ect are two different identities. It would be like comparing squirrel hunting to deer hunting. If you ever get a chance to knock something down that is about 4 or 5 times bigger than you, then you'll realize what big game actually is.
If you southern boys want to call your florida deer big game, then so be it.

Mulies are bigger, in general, IMO, they even have themas an extra on some elk hunts, so I think they're definately thought of as a real "Big Game" animal, but blacktails are smaller, and I don't know what they're ranked as, probably just medium-sized game.

To me any single creature that you can kill and feed your family at least once is big game.
example
small big game=turkey
medium big game=whitetail
large big game=wapiti
dangerous big game=grizzly
my opinion
