Any tips on shooting deer on the run with buckshot? I have an opportunity to hunt a few days with dogs and have no experience hunting this way. I will be using a Remington 870 with 2 3/4" shells and OO shot.
Any tips on aiming at moving deer would be greatly appreciated.

With the velocity of the 00, and the fact that it isn't effective at much distance, you probably shouldn't ever aim/point 'outside of the brown'.
Be sure to make a complete follow thru, that's the real key.

il coyote, I'll have to disagree with you as I hunt with buckshot here in Virginia, a slight lead is needed if the deer is hauling freight so to speak as most are when being chased by dogs. Effective range is out to 40 yards.

By follow through, I'm guessing that means to continue following the path of the deer as I pull the trigger and not stop my motion??
Sorry to seem uneducated, but I do most of my hunting in tree stands where deer are not moving as I take a shot.

It just depends on how fast the deer is running. If it is just skipping along hold it right on him. Hauling tail a slight lead might be needed, but not much. When you get to your stand pick out shooting lanes and try to get a maximum shooting distance. Know exactly where the next stander is.
