RE: the can?
When I 1st saw these things 2 yrs ago in wal-mart I thought here we go again with another Tricky Dick Gimmick for hunters. I've had good luck with grunt calls - so why buy some Can Thing??
So - I'm standing there playing with this Can Thing at wal-mart.A guy walks up and told story about how he called in a huge buck with can and grunt call during bow. He told me some tricks on using it.I bought it(the big one).
Well - 2-3rd time out with this Can Thing I see this 6 or 8pnt basket rack buck on adjacent farm about 200yrds out while sitting in tri-pod in middle of field.Long story short I could not legally take the buck but I played with him for 20-25 minutes.Got him to 60-70yrds of stand. He was going bonkers tryin to find that call!! I have since called in many deer with this Can Thing.
They do work - but not always and don't forget the're has to be deer in the area for it to work.It might take 1/2 or more for deer to come in to investigate.Heavy winds also seems to be a factor.
During the rut when a buck is with doe(s) he might look around at sound but I've never got one to break away. Also - you can easily over do it with a can - or - grunt.

RE: the can?
Ive had deer under my tree already, and played with them to see there reaction. They all look arround for 3-5 seconds, then they loose intrest and continue feeding. It didnt scare them away. Early in bow seas. i tried the bow-grunt set real soft and it scared the hell out of the does! So did the doe decoy,Man they saw that thing and ran like hell!Ill keep at it,Come to think of it,I did shoot a doe this year with a bow grunt. She had already shot across the trail in front of me as i was walking back twards my truck.I figured what the hell it couldnt hurt, and gave it a snort. She stopped, and came back to the trail,I snorted again and she stepped out.30 yd.dbl lung with a climber on my back.I love my bowtech
