Default fawn call ???

If a doe, and her fawn are still hanging around together, and the fawn gets shot, do you think the doe will come in to a fawn call/bawl? Last night another hunter shot the fawn. I'm going again today, and was wondering if some soft fawn bleats might call in the mature doe. What about the "can" ? could that work in this situation, or is the sound too different?

Opinions please?

I'd try the small can.

I've got the Lil Can, and have used it off and on in an area where you need to shoot a doe before you can use your buck tag (Earn-a-buck), so i assume this area would have both does and fawns that were alone, but i had 0 success in calling any in. thats not to say it might not work in your area. i bought this call for that very same reason, hoping it would bring in the does so i could get my buck tag early, but here it is almost 3 months into bow season and i have yet to get my doe. id say give it a try, especially if you can get near the area where your buddy shot the fawn, she might still be hangin around nearby.

Dotn use a call, you'll see deer. In my opinion most deer calls are far from realistic, and your more likely to get hit by likely to get hit by lightning than to ever hear a deer. If your doing anything by shaking a bleat can or grunting your scaring deer, Its like when you call a 1-800 number and its computer operated your like wtf not this again.

I'd say that fawn was ready to leave mom anyways. I really don't think she'd respond to a fawn distress call or anything like that. If it was a bit earlier in the season, I'd say go for it. Now, just sit in the area and get mommy.
