.25-06 under rated?

RE: .25-06 under rated?
I was actually looking for a 25-06 when I got my 270 last year. My "gun guy" didn't have any in at the time so..... It came highly recommended from my cousin who is kinda a gun freak. Yeah, he has the $$ for the toys. [:@]
I still would like to have one though. BTW, BOTH of the deer I've shot this year w/ my 270 have went 40 yds MAX after impact. That's w/ a 130 grn Hornady. I'm sure the 25-06 will give VERY similar results.

The .25-06 is an excellent cartridge. I'd be lost without mine. It shoots nice and flat, bucks wind well, and since I handload, I can load down to 75 gr. v-max bullets (that shoot very fast and very accurately, I might add), to Accubonds, Partitions, and the likes up to 120 grains.
I would have no problems using my 25-06 on elk-sized game if given the opportunity.

I have a Winchester ADL 25-06 and that is my favorite gun out of the 4 deer rifles I have! Flat shooting, super fast, and pack a good punch without to much damage done to the deer! I recomend it!

Who knocks the 25-06? Well, besides the magnum manly crowd who think a whitetail should be missing most of its shoulders to be truly dead?
